Revisiting Grace Video
A few years ago, I had the chance to sit down with the people at the IN:5 project. It's a video ministry that focuses on storytelling, much like we'll be doing here on Ekhad. It's good to revisit moments in our lives that add perspective. This interview happened during my rehab from a broken back, and speaks about Grace. During that time, the word Grace was on my heart a lot.
Think about Paul in the bible. We know that he lived daily with some sort of pain - the "Thorn in the flesh". We don't know exactly what the source of pain was, but we know Paul struggled with it. No one likes to live in pain. Paul sought the Lord three times to remove this source of pain from him (2 Corinthians 12:8). He probably had many good reasons why he should be pain-free: he could have a more effective ministry; he could reach more people with the gospel; he could glorify God even more! But the Lord was more concerned with building Paul’s character and preventing pride. Instead of removing the problem, whatever it was, God gave Paul more overwhelming grace and more compensating strength. Paul learned that God’s “power is made perfect in weakness” (verse 9).
